The Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Family and Gender Relations has responsibility for the Local Government authorities, Gender affairs, Community development, Cooperatives, Adult Education and CDB financing through BNTF projects. Functions vary and include provision of services for dysfunctional families, adult education, community entrepreneurship and empowerment, gender equity and equality, involvement in cooperative and economic activities with non-financial cooperatives, civil society and other non-state actors.  More specifically, the Ministry continues to advocate for stable family structures, local governance and progressive communities in a society that upholds gender equality and respect, and to facilitate livelihood skills development.
